Accessibility Statement

Effective April 25, 2026

Flexion Foundation is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the recognized international standard for accessible web content. This page describes our current practice, what to do if you encounter a barrier, and how to request an accommodation.

What we do

  • Build pages with semantic HTML so assistive technology (screen readers, voice control, switch devices) can navigate them reliably.
  • Use color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA ratios for body text and interactive elements.
  • Keep the focus indicator visible on all keyboard-navigable elements.
  • Provide alternative text on meaningful images and avoid conveying information through color alone.
  • Use form labels, error messages, and ARIA attributes to make forms work with assistive technology.
  • Test on common assistive technology, including VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), TalkBack (Android), and recent versions of NVDA and JAWS on Windows.

Known limitations

We are working toward full conformance and acknowledge that some content may not yet meet the standard. Where third-party embedded tools are used (for example, our donation platform), their accessibility is governed by the third party. We have chosen vendors that publish accessibility documentation, and we monitor this on an ongoing basis. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us so we can fix it or provide an alternative path.

Request an accommodation

If you need information, a service, or a donation experience in an alternative format, or if you encounter any barrier on this site, contact donate@flexionfoundation.org. Please include the page URL, the issue you encountered, and the assistive technology you are using if any. We respond within one business day and resolve documented issues within fifteen business days when feasible. If a longer remediation window is required, we will offer an interim alternative way to access the content or service.

Standards we reference

This statement is informed by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Where guidance differs, we apply the stricter standard.

Updates to this statement

We update this statement as our content, tooling, and testing practice evolve. The Effective Date above reflects the most recent revision.
